The road were blocked by some Papuan women traders in Sorong city – Jubi

Sorong, Jubi – Some Papuan women traders in Sorong city, West Papua, blocked the main road in front of the post office Klademik I, on last week, demanding the release of the eight young men who are still detained by police.

The action showed the disappointment of the traders against the local police on the arrest of eight youths suspected of being the perpetrator of an attack that killed a young man named Glen Renmaur in front of Saga Supermarket Sorong.

On Friday (08/28/2015), two groups of residents clashed around the supermarket because of debt problems, leaving two people dead- one of whom was shot by security forces. The two victims were identified as Glenn R (30) and Maya.

One trader, Mina, told Jubi, the case has been settled in a customary way.
