Jayapura, Jubi – Landslides killed two people and injured three in an area of gold panning in Bogobaida, Paniai a few days ago.
The mudslides were triggered by heavy rain and the witnesses heard the sound of earth collapsing from the hill.
Papua Police spokesman Patrig said the dead victims were identified Rerung and Kifli.
Meanwhile the injured victims are Hopsi, Dede and Umar who suffered wounds in the head, a broken leg and bruises.
The bodies of the victims have been evacuated to Nabire to be buried in their hometown, and the survivors have been saved.
