Sheep while burned near the port (Jubi)

Merauke, Jubi (24/1)-Babuh Rahmat Ship carrying fuel (BBM) , amounting to 100 tons of gasoline, kerosene and diesel, burned at the Port of Kelapa Lima around 18:30 on Friday (24/1). The ship was scheduled to transport the fuel ( BBM) to Asgon, Mappi.

Based on tabloidjubi.com ‘s observation at Kelapa Lima Port that hundreds of people milling around the harbor came to watch the fire. While the ship is immediately dragged out to sea in order to avoid other boats around not burned.
One of the crew, Imam said that he does not know the exact cause of the fire, yet probably it came from a kitchen or water pump. The ship would depart to Asgon on Saturday (25/1) after received a letter from the head of harbormaster ( Kesyahbandaran)
“There was no filling the fuel around 14:00 ( local time). All fuels had been prepared and was scheduled to depart. However, the disaster came.”he said.
He admitted that on the top of the ship, there were seven crew with the captain. They managed to escape by jumping into the sea. “I heard that they are sent straightaway to the General Hospital (Hospital) Merauke, because among them suffered from fire-bolt . “he said.
In separated place, Head of Public Relations of Merauke Police, Inspector Richard Nainggolan said that his institution could not confirm the cause of the fire because it is still in the process of investigation. “Yes, we have to get the data from the crews.” he said. (Jubi / Ans/ Tina)
