Jayapura, 17/6 (Jubi) – The Governor of Province Papua Lukas Enembe through the Head of Papua’s Protocol Bureau, F.X. Mote said the provincial government would not hinder the legal process conducted by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK towards Yesaya Sombuk, Biak Numfor Regent.
“As the administration head in Papua, the governor is entirely submitting the problem to the KPK officials who did a detention. The Governor of Papua would not hinder the legal process towards the regent for the sake of Law,” F.X. Mote said to reporters in Jayapura, Papua on Tuesday (17/6).
According to him, the Governor just heard about the arrest of Biak Numfor Regent from KPK officials at around 23.00 Papua time when he was in Jakarta. He asked his staffs checking to ensure the information.
“Though the arrest was reported in the national media, we still need a confirmation both from the Biak local government and KPK, including the scene,” he said.
“The Governor is very concerned about the detention, because Yesaya Sombuk has just assigned as the Biak Regent for about three months,” he said. Related to this case, the Governor of Papua has actually reminded the Regents/Mayor to work referring to the rules and to avoid working outside the office and working hour.
As reported in the national media Kompas.com, KPK official has arrested the Biak Numfor Regent and his assistant on Monday night (16/6) at a hotel in Jakarta.
Based on the up dated information, the regent has directly brought the the KPK Building at Kuningan, Jakarta. The Deputy of KPK Bambang Widjojanto didn’t decline about the information.
“At the right time, our spokesperson would be answer these all questions,” he said through short message on Tuesday (17/6).
Meanwhile KPK Spokesperson, Johan Budi SP earlier confirmed about the detention. But he could not provide the further information related to this detention. (Jubi/Alex/rom)
