Jayapura, 11/1 (Jubi) – Ferry Marisan, Director of Elsham Papua said that if the visit of five ministers of countries member of MSG at the end is planning to meet with the Parliament of Papua (DPRD) and the Governor of Papua, it would be better if they are not coming as the representatives of MSG because the initial purpose of their visit is to follow up the WPNCL proposal that was proposed in the MSG Conference in Noumea last year.
“The purpose of their visit is to see and meet with the civilians of Papua based on WPNCL proposal to join as the member of MSG. Thus in this visit, they have to convoke the civilians of Papua or the participants of WPNCL, instead of meeting with the governor and the parliament,” said Marisan.
He said if the purpose of this visit is not to meet with the civilians, therefore the delegation should not to represent the MSG. “If they are willing to come and meet with the Parliament and Governor, therefore they cannot representing the MSG but the representatives of Pacific Countries who are the working partners of the Government of Indonesia, because the Provincial Government of Papua is not the member of WPNCL,” said Ferry Marisan trough his cell phone on Saturday (11/1/14) in Jayapura, Papua.
“The purpose of their visit should be to meet with the civilians of Papua and such groups who consider being the opposite of the Government of Indonesia such as KNPB, JDP, GEMPAR, TAPOL/NAPOL and other organizations that consider as the opposition of the state. Therefore the purpose of their visit would be proper,” he said.
While, Nehemia Yarinap, the humanitarian activist in Papua, said that the ministers of the countries member of MSG visiting Papua because they were invited by the Government of Indonesia to observe the development in Papua since integrated with Indonesia. “These ministers of the countries member of MSG were invited by the Government of Indonesia in regards to the issues raised by the Papuan diplomats such as the failure of development and education, and the state violation towards Papuans as well,” said Nemehia.
Further he said, it is fine, but it is worried to think about the information they will get. “We are worried whether the government provide the unrealistic information or good information to the ministers, such as a presentation of Otsus, Otsus Plus, UP4B and development,” he continued. So it is important if the ministers of the countries member of MSG convoke the civilians of Papua and the groups who struggle for the independent of Papua,” said Yarinap. (Jubi / Arnold Belau)
