The Chairman of Kingmi Synod Goes the Papua Prosecutor Office Questioning the Blackmail

Jayapura, Jubi – The Chairman of Gospel Tabernacle Church (Kingmi) Synod, the Rev. Benny Giay went to the Papua High Prosecutor Office on Wednesday (22/10) questioning the blackmail on the Kingmi’s priest Sari Adii Purba.

He said the priest admitted two culprits claimed as the employees of the Prosecutor Office and speak on behalf the Head of the Papua Prosecutor Office have blackmailed her saying they could stop the investigation towards her husband in relation to the corruption case in the Papua Religion Affairs Office.

“Melias Adii was currently detaining in Abepura Prison for corruption. But the purpose of our visit is to express her anxiety. Two persons who blackmailed her claimed themselves as Priest Obed Nego and Ibrahim Asso,” Benny Giay said on Wednesday (22/10). They said the Head of Prosecutor Office could issue SP3 (Letter of Termination on Investigation) against Melias Addii if his wife could provide a ransom.

“On 11 October, two person claimed the employees of Papua Prosecutor Office came to the prison to meet the priest’s husband and Gerson Wenda, the official of the Religion Affairs Office who also being detained in the prison. They said to both suspects that their case could be terminated if they could provide 500 million. After negotiation, they agreed about the amount of 100 million,” he said.

Further Benny Giay said before the promotion of the Head Maruli Hutagalung, he must clean all dirty things in his office. “However, I couldn’t meet him because he was on meeting. I only met the Head of Intelligent Division,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Head of Papua Prosecutor Office ES. Maruli Hutagalung said he didn’t know about the misuse of his name. Besides, Abed Nego and Ibrahim Asso are not our employees.
