Jayapura, Jubi – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) questioned four employees of PT Portal Engineering Perkasa in connection with a corruption case implicating former Papua governor Barnabas Suebu,
Yana Muharmansyah, Sindu Hermono, Aris, dan Budiharto were examined by KPK on Monday (27/10) according to Republika. “They were examined as witnesses,” confirmed Priharsa Nugraha, the KPK Media and Publication Division Chief.
Nugraha admitted the employees would be questioned as witnesses of corruption on the procurement purchasing conducted by Detail Engineering Design for Water Power Electricity (PLTA) construction in Mamberamo and Unumuka rivers during 2009 to 2010. And it’s involved the former Papua Governor.
A number of people have been prevented from going abroad for the investigation purpose; among them is Wicaksono Nugrohom the consultant of Portal Engineering Perkasa.
Suebu was named a suspect for allegedly marking up the consulting fee in regards to the construction of DED PLTA in Mamberamo River through PT. KPIJ. He accused to violate the article 2 and 3 on the Corruption Crime.
Related to this case, the State losses approximately 36 milliard, while the project was costing Rp 56 milliard. (Victor Mambor/rom)
