Jayapura, 9/1 (Jubi) – Head of Secondary and Vocational Education of Education Office of Jayapura Municipality, Cliford Korwa, to answer the challenge from the Mayor of Jayapura Municipality towards the vocational high schools for creating the innovations, is preparing the vocational high school to compete in the seven existed projects.  

“At least it’s already seven, and we will launch some of them, including the Mario Teguh table, bricks from recycling waste, and other things. We will launch it soon in 2014” he said to tabloidjubi.com, Thursday (9/1).
Meanwhile, the Principal of SMK 3 (SMK – Vocational High School), Melkianus Mawene, admitted they are have already prepared to answer the challenge from the Mayor who wants the vocational high school are capable to make a new innovation in 2014.
“The vocational high school is closely related with technology. And many of us were prepared to improve the existing innovation from the last year, such as the laptop assembling. It has resulted 1800 unit of laptops that already distributed to the entire high schools and vocational high schools in Papua,” revealed Mawene.

For 2014, he will design a car-assembling program which is in other hand he admit that they need a workshop, considerable funds and the instructors as well. “Though I have admitted that the car-assembling requires some resources of fund as we must prepare and build a workshop. Our school’s subject is technology so it needs a semi-industry workshop. It is more appropriate. Because if accommodating with the common method of learning, they want be able to innovate,” added Mawane.
SMK 3 Jayapura also developed the appropriate and renewable technologies. “We have created the manual shedding rice machine and sago crusher machine as well, and some renewable technologies to anticipate the 20 years from now because it’s estimated that we will run out the fossil’s gas and oil.
