Jayapura, Jubi – The simultaneous local election budget in 11 districts in Papua has been set at Rp.315.10 billion, a commissioner said.
Papua General Elections Commission ( KPU Papua) member Isak Hikoyabi said the budget approved was an increase from the requested Rp138,449 billion.
“One out of 11 regencies in Papua that has received the election budget is KPU Merauke which amounted to Rp35,949 billion more,” he said this week.
While 10 other regencies listed as follows, Nabire regency requested a Rp27,35 billion, but only Rp15 billion approved, Asmat regency allocated Rp24,81 billion but only got Rp15 billion.
In addition, Supiori regency requested Rp12,49 billion, but received Rp 7 billion, Keerom regency asked for Rp 15 billion but only got Rp5 billion, Mamberamo raya proposed Rp22 billion but only Rp11 billion approved.
He further said that Boven Digul received Rp. 14 billion out of Rp35 billion requested, then Pegunungan Bintang proposed 26 billion but only received Rp13 billion and Yalimo got Rp.11 billion from Rp. 37 billion realimo new submitted Rp11 billion proposed.
While Yahukimo requested Rp. 54 billion and got only Rp 8 billion and Waropen received 3.5 billion from Rp25,49 billion asked.
According to him, the funds allocated do not include the budget for props, billboards, banners and pamphlets of the candidates.
“The funds will be allocated again after the enactment of candidates who will participate in the elections in every region,” said Isak Hikoyabi. (*/ Tina)
