Secretary and Governor’s Spokesman Statement is Confusing

Jayapura, Jubi – Statement given regarding Papua Governor Lukas Enembe’s absence during President Joko Widodo’s visit to Papua confused the provincial legislative council, said a legislator.

A member of Commission I of Papua Legislative Council ( DPRP) on Governance, Politics, Law and Human Rights, Tan Wie Long said the statements of the secretary and spokesman of the governor in some media contradict each other. The governor spokesman said that the governor had an urgent business that could not accompany president Jokowi. While, the secretary informed that the governor was sick and unable to accompany president during his visit in Papua.

“Personally, I deplore the different statements. Actually, both of them should have sit together before giving an explaination ,” Tan said via phone this week.

He said the two parties need to clarify it. “Do not let people ask which reason they should trust. I also hope that the governor will clarify it. Whatever reason we, DPRP will support, “he said.

The same thing was also said by secretary of Commission I of the DPRP, Mathea Mamoyau. He said, There should be an explanation given not only to society, but also the group who participated in the visit.
