Jakarta, Jubi/Antara – The Board of Commissioners of Spirit Avia Sentosa (SAS) Airlines met President Joko Widodo to discuss plans to flights in Papua.

“Accompanied by the Transportation Minister Ignatius Jonan, we reported what we’ve have done with air charter in Papua,” chief commissioner Panda Nababan said after the meeting at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Wednesday (4/3/2015).

He revealed the president paid special attention to progress in Papua. “The president was very happy,” he said.

He further said currently PT SAS is still in the process of obtaining a permit and will focus to open flights to the Papuan remote areas. “Nabire, and other remote areas such as Puncak Jaya,” he said,
He hoped the Minister of Transportation could help the company in obtaining the permit and accommodating the local development in Papua.
Meanwhile President Director Suhandi said PT SAS set a target to be operated flying its three planes within two or three months. (*/Rom)
