Jayapura , 13/1 (Jubi) – After holding the closed meeting with the delegation of the Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) from Papua New Guinea represented by Mr. Hon Rimbink Patoand from Fiji represented by HE Ratu Kubuabola Noke and Solomon , Mr. Clay Forau Soalaoi Hon . Papua Governor, Lukas Enembe invites all parties to forget the past in order to re-arrange the future and progress of the Papua people.
“I invite all parties to forget the past . If there are violations of human rights and now we are planning again for the future and progress of the Papua people. ” said Governor, Lukas Enembe in Jayapura on Monday (13/1).
Governor admitted that during the new order, there were a lot of human rights violations in Papua . However, history has been recorded and reformation era has been rolled where we are on the path to reform .
“Indonesia is more open than before and to anyone. Thus , the impact of reformation is to make the Law No.21 of 2001.” he added.
As governor, he wants to push more to develop Papua people because all of the potential that exist in Papua will be used for Papua people .
“This is the case that I am working on and struggling before the President, SBY will come to Papua. I also request that the tax be sent to Jakarta,returned to Papua . This is a new comprehensive solution for Papua people.” he said.
The visit of MSG delegation was more related to to the continuation of MSG at the request of the Papuans who were there , to see Papua. Later, Papua will make a reciprocal visit.
“It’s more open meetings. So everyone can see the changes taking place in Papua . No more political pressure , human rights violations. It’s more open . Later this relationship will be built through the cultural andeconomic cooperation, and also we will exchange visits .” he said.
“At this meeting, we also discussed on Special Autonomy Plus where the Central Government is currently trying to find a solution for the betterment of the people of Papua. That which we have already explained and we forget the past if there was a violation of human rights and we are planning again for the future and progress of the people of Papua ,” Governor added.
At the same place, the leader of MSG delegation from Papua New Guinea, Mr. Hon Rimbink Pato said there are many interesting topics discussed with the Governor of Papua.
“We discuss everything in detail including economic development agreements, Papua regulations and programs in Indonesian, as well as a trading joint venture.” said Rimbink Pato.
The arrival of a delegation of three members of the MSG country was marked by the blockage action of Cenderawasih University by the Movement of Student Care of People (Gempar). These students make oratories on campus by security forces escort. (Jubi/Alex/Tina)
