Jayapura, Jubi – The government of Papua has been criticized for allegedly failing to implement regulations effectively.

“We’ve had a lot bylaws but everything is useless because it is never implemented,” governor of Papua Lukas Enembe said in Jayapura, Papua, last week.

He said the regulations are ineffective because the local government too often had to consult Jakarta.
“Now we do not need to do any consultations to execute bylaws as long as it has not violated the sovereignty of the state,” he said.

He further stated bylaws issued to regulate the lives of the people of Papua. “We all agree that, unless it is about independence then will be faced against the state,” he said.

In addition, the Special Autonomy Law regulated population control problem, yet nothing could be done until today and it is not necessary to be evaluated in Jakarta. (Alexander Loen/Tina)
