Jayapura , 4/5 ( Jubi ) – The Papua Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) has called for criminal proceedings against three election officials accused of fleeing with vote count documents.
Yoseph Twenty, chairman of the Sarmi election commission, and Sarmi commission member Odie Demisitau allegedly carried six districts recapitulation file without the knowledge of other members of the commission, according to media reports.
Both are currently in Jakarta.
The chairman of Digoel Commission, Natalis, allegedly intentionally replaced the vote count recapitulation document from Digoel regency.
“Bawaslu also recommend that the three of them are processed in accordance with the code of ethics,” Pegie said (3/5).
However Papua Police spokesman Sulistyo Pudjo Hartono said there has been no police report filed by the Election Supervisory Body so the police could not take action.
“This is a verbal report. It could not be proceeded and it should be based on a police report,” Hartono said. ( Jubi / Victor Mambor/ Tina )
