Merauke, Jubi (7/5) – Merauke Police are investigating the purchase of Ohan LCT Ship by government of Merauke regency which is now being managed by PT Sailing Musamus. The ship was bought in 2006 by using the local budget ( APBD) worth Rp 18 billion.

Merauke police spokesman Agus Siswanto confirmed that as many as 12 people have been questioned in the case.
“The twelve people questioned include the chairman of the Investment and Cooperation Plan  between Merauke Regency with PT Sailing Musamus, the Merauke finance department and former head of Merauke Revenue agency, Sumiar Pasaribu,” he told tabloidjubi.com on Wednesday (7/6).

Furthermore, he said, some evidence has been gathered including permit papers, certificate of incorporation of PT Musamus, the Decree (SK) Merauke regent and Budget Form (DPA).

The payment was done through two phases, the first was Rp. 3.6 billion and the second was Rp.14.4 billion.

The ship is still in operation transporting fuel oil (BBM) from Ambon to the Timika. “We also want to find out whether this operation is based on the agreement that PT Musamus is responsible to give Rp. 200 million to Merauke regency monthly or not,” he said.

Separately, members of the Merauke Representatives Council (DPRD), Fransiskus Ohoiwutun said that he supports the steps taken by the Police to conduct this case. (Jubi / Frans L Kobun/ Tina)
