Jayapura, 15/2 (Jubi) – To achieve a better and professional tourism management and development towards Hamadi Beach areas, Mayor Jayapura Benhur Tommy Mano conducted a meeting with Ondoafi (customary leader) and manager of Hamadi Beach.

“The development will be conducted with people’s support. Of course the Government of Kota Jayapura won’t be harm the people, especially in the initial step to develop the Hamadi Beach as the public tourism area,” Mano told to tabloidjubi.com at Hamadi Beach, Kota Jayapura on Saturday (15/2).

He also said that he had many reports from people who requested their willingness to the Government of Jayapura Municipality to develop the Hamadi Beach as a professional tourism area.

Therefore, said Mano, the Government of Jayapura Municipality has conducted a comprehensive and continuous approach to the customary community in order to do a better arrangement for Hamadi Beach for the future.
“We explained to the community that the purpose of the government to develop that area is to getting the attention from any tourists coming to the area. It could not be happened without their supports. In the meeting, they agreed, so that it would be a follow up action for The Tourism Department of Jayapura Municipality to realize it,” he said.

Head of Tourism Department of Jayapura Municipality, Anthon Imbenay said the meeting between Mayor Jayapura and the community is to meet a commitment between the city’s government and related stakeholders.
“We want a commitment between the City’s government and Ondoafi and manager of Hamadi Beach. Technically we will follow up this with the MoU. This will be a reference for us both the technical manager and the land tenure owners. Therefore it is for no complain in the future,” Imbenay said.

“We are planning to build 10 samples of shelter along the beach line. We also will improve the services and complete the existing facilities,” he said.

He also will collaborate with Regional Revenue Department of Kota Jayapura to determine the price of entry ticket for the visitors. (Jubi/Sindung/rom)
