Sentani, Jubi – The Government of Pegunungan Bintang regency will work with the airline Associated Mission Aviation (AMA) to help treat or evacuate sick people from the area.
“Yes, there is a special request from the regency about to serve or to take the sick people to the city” said AMA Director Djarot Soetanto in Sentani on this week.
Furthermore, the local government agreed to pay for the airlifting of sick people by the AMA.
“The local government asked for special services for the sick and its cost will be paid for by them,” he added.
“It is kind of government subsidy for the sick in order to get treatment in the city,” he said.
According to him, the service has been done before for those who live in the interior of Papua.
“All this time, the AMA has helped the sick people from their villages to Jayapura and they don’t have to pay,” he said.
He added that a lot of requests from the public to the AMA in order to serve them, and demand is high enough each year. (*)
