Jayapura, Jubi – The Papuan Department of Industry and Trade is seeking to boost coffee production in more areas in 2016.
The acting department head, Elsye Pekade, said in Jayapura on Thursday (14/01/2015). that the impetus for the increase in coffee production carried out in Lapago and Meepago areas.
“This coffee production will start to become the focus of government, particularly in Dogiyai and Tolikara,” she said.
” Last year, the existing production was still only a small scale and have not been the focus,”she added.
So this year, Papua governor Lukas Enembe instructed Disperindag to pay attention in improving coffee production.
“Next year, we will gradually reach all potential areas. Only for this year’s, we reach two regencies,” she said.
She added that with the increase in coffee production in some regencies in Papua can also increase the income and welfare of society. (*/Tina)
