Jayapura , 26/5 ( Jubi ) – Papua Students in Jakarta queried about the veracity of the products on display in the Papuan Arts and Culture Exhibition in Monas, Jakarta from 23-25 May .
“The Papuan Arts and Culture Exhibition organized by the Ministry of Social Welfare in collaboration with the Government of Papua and West Papua was only ceremonial,” Samuel Nawipa said in a statement by the Papua Students Coalition in Jakarta on Monday (26/5).
Samuel said that some of the products are fictitious, for example the product of Mines and Energy Department on hydropower of Kali Yawei and Deiyai regency on Tourism.
“The two products on display do not exist in reality,” he said.
Papua Student Coalition think that the Central Government, the Government of Papua and West Papua simply hide the failure of Special Autonomy in Papua.
” The government should have recognized the failure of Special Autonomy and the Unit for the Acceleration of Development in Papua and West Papua (UP4B). This exhibition is done as if to rescue ” Autonomy Plus,” he added.
Besides that, the Jakarta residents who visit were also surprised by the products on display, including Papua coffee.
“I do not suspect that Papua has a lot of potential Coffee besides the red fruit ( Buah merah). Many cafes in Jakarta, which offer Papua coffee in their menu list but when we order it, the answer is empty . ” Jayanti Meta, a financial analyst in one of the company audit services said.
She guessed that plantation infrastructure such as coffee plantations are not yet available permanently that the coffee is always in short supply.
“Unfortunately, the presence of Papua coffee in the cafes in Jakarta is good for promotion. Please do not stop at this exhibition only but provide permanent infrastructure coffee plantations and also for red fruit products, ” she said . ( Jubi / Victor Mambor/ Tina )
