Papua Police spokesman Patridge Renwarin – Jubi

Jayapura, Jubi – Papua police warned 17 regency police chiefs and chief detectives over poor performance in handling corruption cases.

Papua Police spokesman Patrige Renwarin said the warnings were given by deputy chief of th Papua Police, Brigadier Gen Rudolf Albert Rodja, during a meeting with them recently.
“It will be evaluated in October. There are 17 out of 22 Police regencies in Papua were appointed by chief deputy of Papua Police, only five of them who performed well such as Biak Numfor police, Yahukimo police, Merauke police Digoel police and Asmat police, ” Police Commissioner Patrige said last weekend.

He said, the Directorate of Special Criminal of Papua Police has a target of handling 21 cases, while 32 cases for the entire Police ranks.
“It is predicted that, at the end of 2015 the target of the entire handling of corruption increased to 90 percent,” he said.

Earlier, chief of Papua police’s Criminal Detective Guntur Setyanto said within a period of six months, investigators of Subdit III Corruption Directorate of Polda Papua criminal detective already handled 30 cases of alleged corruption, and five of them have been completed. (Arjuna Pademme/Tina)
