Jayapura, Jubi – Papua governor Lukas Enembe insisted he would not accept a candidate of acting regents and mayors.
“The appointment of acting regents and mayor is under the authority of the Governor as an arm of the central government in the region,” governor Lukas Enembe said in Jayapura, Papua on Monday (29/06/2015).
Therefore, the governor requested that the officials who have been appointed and sworn in as acting regent especially in the 11 regencies that will carry out the simultaneous elections not to intervene for political purposes.
“There should be no intervention because I have a regional secretary, assistant and head of the bureau that work for it. We won’t accept any proposal from the regencies,” he said.
The governor said he would appoint provincial assistant, regional secretary and head of bureau. While head of department can not apply for acting regent, because the task of heads of departments are to manage and conduct programs that have been set.
“It is clear, so that administration of government will run properly. I have said in the province that only the assistant, the regional secretary and head of bureau are appointed and not the head of department, “he stated.
Although as an acting regent for six months, the governor asked the appointed officials to be more focused on preparation of the electoral process that will take place in each respective area.
Meanwhile, for the Election Commission, the Supervisory Committee and the officials to coordinate well, so that the implementation of the elections in Nabire will be successful.
