Papua Government Urged to Evaluate Local Companies

Jayapura, Jubi – Papua Legislative Council ( DPRP) urged the provincial government of Papua to evaluate a number of regional-owned enterprises or regional companies under Irian Bhakti Mandiri (IBM), formerly known as a holding company.

This is because there is a regional company that not contribute to the government.

The chairman of commission III of DPRP on BUMD and the Regional Asset, Carolus Kelen Boli, said about seven subsidiaries under IBM’s area. Printing companies that include Rakyat Papua (PRP), PT. Listrik, PT. Semen, Papua Lintas Nusantara, PT. Tambang and several others.

“I do not want to discuss one by one. We ask the government to evaluate all of the companies under IBM, “said Carolus on Tuesday (5/1/2015).

He continued not all companies under IBM were “sick”. He said he has asked the Governor of Papua to carry out a thorough evaluation.

There are enterprises that are still busy in administrative affairs, correspondence and others, yet do not contribute to the government.

“Two of which are considered immature and should be stopped temporarily by using existing mechanism., “he said.
