Papua Government Prepares Indicators to Evaluate Use of Autonomy Funds

Papua Regional Secretary, Herry Dosinaen – Jubi

Jayapura, Jubi – The Papua Provincial Government is preparing an evaluation on the use of 80 percent of Special Autonomy funds allocated to regencies.

Papua Regional Secretary Hery Dosinaen told reporters in Jayapura on Monday (6/6/2016) that the preparation was running smoothly. He said an evaluation team is on set. He expected it could be done soon to conduct the evaluation on the ground immediately. “I hope the evaluation team can do their work immediately,” he said.

In the Regional Working Meeting of Papua Regents and Mayor, the Provincial Government has announced about this evaluation plan and has received reports from 29 regional heads concerning to the implementation of the Special Autonomy.

However, the Provincial Government has delivered the editor team from the Papua Inspectorate and Finance and Development Control Agency to conduct an initial evaluation. “The provincial team who will conduct the evaluation are including representatives from Regional Development Planning Agency, BPKAD, BPKP, Papua Legislative Council and some related technical staffs,” he further said.

Earlier, the Head of Papua Regional Development and Planning Agency Muhammad Musa’ad told the agency is completing the evaluation on the use of 80 percent allocated budget of the Special Autonomy at municipal and regional levels.

“Papua Provincial Government regularly sent their team to several regencies. Now it is completing the result of evaluation,” said Musa’ad.

He added once the result of evaluation is finished, the agency would publish it through printed and electronic media, because it is the transparency era. (Alexander Loen/rom)
