Jayapura, Jubi – Papua Public Works chief Maikel Kambuaya said Papua needed Rp 10 trillion to organize the XX National Games.
“The budget is required for the event is approximately Rp.10 trillion, including Rp 5 trillion for infrastructure development, Rp 2 trillion to Rp 3 trillion for the organization of the event itself,”M uh Musa’ad told reporters in Jayapura, Papua on Tuesday (24/03/2015).
Venues will need to be built in five locations that have been designated as hosts: Jayapura, Biak, Wamena, Merauke and Mimika.
“We’ve talked about it in Biak some time ago and will be followed up in the level of regency and city in regional program meeting ( Musrembang) next month in Jayapura, “he said.
He further said that the Government of Papua would ask for central government assistance by sending a letter to the Minister of Youth and Sports.
“Yes, hopefully the requested assistance can be approved. We hope the central government will provide Rp. 5 trillion so the total budget can reach Rp 10 trillion,” he hoped.
Earlier, governor of Papua Province, Lukas Enembe said the provincial government required funds amounting to Rp 1 trillion more each year to build facilities of the XX National Games.
