Jayapura, Jubi – The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Papua Province announced that Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for Papua in the mining sector rose by Rp2,44 trillion to 33.251 in the second quarter.
“In the second quarter of 2015, the value of GDP by mining and quarrying reached Rp 33,251 trillion or an increase of approximately Rp 2,44 trillion over the first quarter of 2015,” head of BPS Papua said Didiek Koesbianto in Jayapura on Monday (10/8/2015).
According to him, the increase in value-added also occurs when GDP Papua without mining and quarrying that figure into Rp24,529 trillion or an increase of Rp1.009 trillion, compared to the first quarter of 2015
While at constant prices, the total value-added business field and without mining and quarrying has increased.
“In the second quarter of 2015, GDP in the mining and quarrying reached Rp.32,602 trillion or an increase of around Rp. 2,207 trillion compared to the previous quarter,” he said.
“GDP without mining and quarrying rose Rp. 592 billion which is from Rp18,27 trillion in the first quarter of 2015 to Rp18,809 trillion in the next quarter,” he said.
The highest contribution of GDP from the field of mining and quarrying reached 26.23 percent.
“While the highest contribution to GDP without mining and quarrying comes from the field of agricultural enterprises 20.35 percent,” said Didiek. (*)
