Jayapura , 3/2 ( Jubi ) – In December 2013, the export value increased by Papua 36.45 percent or 477.57 million dollar compared to the previous month . This is because it is triggered by an increase in exports of copper ores and concentrates ( HS26 ).

” The increase in the value of exports in December 2013 triggered by an increase in the value of exports of copper ores and concentrates ( HS26 ) from 340.62 million dollars in November 2013 to 471.42 million dollars . ” said Head of the Central Statistics Agency of Papua province, Didik Koesbianto to reporters in Jayapura on Monday (3/2) .
Copper Concentrate ( HS26 ) is still a mainstay commodities exported from Papua , where its value is increased compared with the previous month . It is amounted to 188 thousand tonnes of copper concentrate equivalent to the value of exported 471.42 million in December 2013, which aimed to India , Japan , China , and South Korea .
” Interestingly, the value of exports increased compared to the previous month in the category HS44 and HS03 , which amounted to 23.03 percent and 84.12 percent . There are also interesting in December 2013 , which returned carrying non-oil exports of other groups of 0.77 million dollars after being absent in the previous month.” he explained .
Meanwhile , Head of the Central Statistics Agency of Papua Province, Adriana Robaha said that it is not only exports are increasing , but the total imports of Papua in December 2013 involved an increase of 78.13 million dollars compared to the previous month worth 12.00 million dollars .
Non-oil primary commodities with the largest share class of Machinery and Mechanical  worth 20.33 million dollars ( 26.01 percent ) , followed by golonga – class goods of iron and steel ( HS73 ) worth of 1o , 36 million dollars ( 13.26 percent ) .
” As for the import of Machinery and Mechanical imported from Australia.” said Adriana Robaha .
He added that for a cumulative total imports from January to December 2013 decreased 50.25 percent visible than the total in January-December 2012 to 508.90 million dollars .
” While the value of imports of major countries in the cumulative January-December , 2013, valued at 466.79 million dollars , while imports from other countries was 42.10 million dollars.”s he added . ( Jubi / Alex/Tina )
