Papua Election Committee: Regional Election Budget Reaches 353 Billion Rupiahs

Jayapura, Jubi – Papua Election Commission  chairman Adam Arisoy said the budget for regional elections which will be conducted simultaneously in ten regencies  stood at about 353 billion rupiah. 
The ten regencies who submitted the budget include Waropen (25 billion), Keerom (20 billion), Asmat (31 billion), Merauke (48 billion), Boven Digoel (60 billion), Yahukimo (65 billion), Pegunungan Bintang (35 billion), Yalimo (42 billion), Supiori (12 billion) and Mamberamo Raya (15 billion).
“Meanwhile, the Nabire Election Committee said the regent will approve the proposed budget regardless its allocated amount,” Arisoy said in the presentation on the Head Election Budget in the Regional Meeting of Regional Election Budget 2015 in Jayapura on Wednesday (4/3/2015).
He said the proposed budget by each Regional Local Committee is for financing the entire stages of the election, which would be held from May to December 2015. “It refers to the schedule announced by the Election Committee,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Papua Governor Lukas Enembe asked the regents of eleven regencies to allocate the election budget in the Regional Budget Plan in referring to the guidance issued by the Internal Affairs Minister. Furthermore, each Regional Election Committee has proposed the budget.
