Jayapura , 5/5 ( Jubi ) – Dozens of people from Nafri Village in Jayapura blocked a garbage disposal site on Monday (5/5) after their candidates failed to win enough votes in the legislative elections.

Nafri village head Zacharias Hanuebi said there were 12 candidates from the city of Jayapura Port Numbay and all of them were disqualified.

He said if their aspirations are not heeded, they will close the disposal site in Nafri.
“The people will continue to block all gevernmnet assets in Port Numbay, ” he said .

At around 12:00, a platoon of fully armed policemen escorted 40 garbage trucks that were stuck around Nafri since early morning.
