Jayapura , 13/1 ( Jubi ) – Markus Haluk , the Genaral Secretary of Central Highland Students Association of Papua, Indonesia ( Asosiasi Mahasiswa Pegunungan Tengah) with several Papua were arrested in front of the Papua Legislative Council ( DPRP) building by the police while trying to perform welcoming demonstration MSG delegations on Monday ( 13/1/2014) in Jayapura,Papua.
One of the humanitarian activists in Papua, Usman Yogobi confirmed it. He said when was found by Tabloidjubi.com at Imbi garden in Jayapura this morning.
“It’s true, this Morning Markus Haluk and dozens of Papua activists are arrested by the police in front of DPRP’s office .” said Yogobi when found tabloidjubi.com at Imbi Park in Jayapura this morning .
He said the arrest of Markus Haluk and dozens of Papuan activists are the result of the arrival of MSG delegations. Therefore, MSG should be responsible. ” said Yogobi .
General Secretary KNPB, Ones Suhuniap, in a text message sent to the media said there are 42 members of KNPB arrested in front of the DPRP .
“42 people got caught, they are Markus Haluk , General Secretary of AMPTPI , Agus kosay, 1st chairman of central KNBP, Ucak.logo , chief intelligence commissioner of central KNPB , Ogram Wanimbo , chairman of diplomacy of central KNPBand 42 others from mass. Besides arresting these activists, police also took a number of demonstration stuffs, such as banners , megaphones and a camera .
In Abepura, students at Cenderawasih University ( Uncen ) held a demonstration in front of the main gate of campus in Abepura, Jayapura. ” We ask MSG meet with Papua people, political prisoners and the victims of human rights violations .” said the coordinator of the demonstration, Alfares Kapisa .
Meanwhile, the chief of Jayapura regency police ( Polresta ), Alfred Papare as confirmed via telephone but no answer. Tabloidjubi.com sent a text message three times but there is no response from the police chief of Jayapura,until this news published. ( Jubi / Arnold Belau / Benny Mawel/Tina )
