More than 5,200 Elementary School Students Participate in Final Exams

Jayapura, Jubi – As many as 5226 elementary students in Jayapura city are taking the final exams from 18-20 May, the education department said.

The head of the education department of Jayapura, I Wayan Mudiyasa,said for the primary level, there is no longer the National Exams ( UN). Although it is only a school-level exam, teachers still supervise the students.
“The UN results do not determe passing, therefore there is a school exam. It is appropriate with government program that students must pass after six years of schooling, “Mudiyasa told reporters at Mayor residence on last Sunday.

Related to the exam, said Mudiyasa, 30 percent of the questions were made by the Central Government, 70 percent by the regencies / city and many of local teachers were appointed by the province to create questions.

Meanwhile the Mayor of Jayapura, Benhur Tommy Mano, said he hoped the elementary school exams can run well, safely and smoothly.
“I hope parents will supervise their children  to learn well, so that these students can take the test well,” Mano said on Sunday (05/17/2015).

Mano also expected to all residents of Jayapura to maintain the security situation and, in order to process this test can be run properly and smoothly. (Munir/ Tina)
