More than 47,000 KPS for Merauke and 30,000 for Mimika

Jayapura, Jubi – The Acceleration of Development Agency for Heatlh in Papua (UP2KP) has been distributing 47,780 Healthy Papua Cards ( KPS) in Mimika Regency.

“We handed 28, 688 cards to chief medical officer of Timika, Ibrahim Iba in his office two days ago (21/10) , and then 19,092 to the head of Mimika public Hospital, drg. Francis Thio also in his office on Wednesday (22/10), ” coordinator of UP2KP Volunteer Team, Darwin Rumbiak said in the office on Wednesday (29/10).

The head of sub division of Merauke Health Office, Leo Matop,  received 30.798 Health Papua Cards ( KPS) on Thursday ( 23/10)

Besides distributing KPS, he also oversees the use of 15 percent of health funds in Mimika and Merauke regencies and mosquito net distribution program as well immunization.

“15 percent of funds were mostly used to purchase medical equipment, medicines, as well as to transport medical personnel to remote places,” Darwin said.

Unfortunately, KPS can not be distributed to the public because the cards do not yet have registration numbers. “After KPS systematic numbering completed by this week, we will distribute them to each regencies / city in the province of Papua,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Anas Lestaluhu, one of the members of the UP2KP Volunteer Team confirmed that all of these processes went well and got a positive response from relevant parties in Merauke.
