Jayapura, Jubi – The Ministry of Social Affairs held training to to help female victims of violence.
The training was held in Jayapura from 12 to October 22.
“This training has been developed to assist social workers to be equipped with some knowledge and skills to be able to assist women who have experienced violence” Asti Wulandari, one of the members of Team Consultant to the Ministry of Social Affairs said to Jubi in Kampkey, Jayapura, on Tuesday (14/10 ).
It is also necessary to build awareness on a number of issues, an understanding of gender and the social impact of gender, she said.
“Hopefully through this training, the companions have additional knowledge and insight, as we expected,” she said.
She appreciated the presence of men in this training as social worker sand it was very good and extremely helpful in providing different perspectives.
In the same place, Akmal A. Sukwanta, Staff Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia B2P2KS Jayapura say, the participants came from four provinces of Papua, West Papua, Maluku and North Maluku.
“There’s a little problem so that not all participants present but the number of particpants has met our target which is 30 people,” Sukwanta said. (Aprila Wayar/Tina)
