Indonesian Minister of Transportation Ignasius Jonan – Suplied

Jayapura, Jubi – Joint Rescue Team finally found the aircraft Trigana IL-257 crashed at surrounding Oksibil and the bodies of 54 people on board.

The latest data released on Monday (18/8/2015) revealed nine passengers whose names were not listed on the flight manifest since the aircraft was reportedly missing by media on Sunday (16/8/2015).

They are Nelson Wayang, Yana Uropka, Yance Wapdanon, Kayus Kipka, Terianus Salawala, Eli Uropmabin, Timius Dupui, Obhet Turukna and John Gasperz. Those nine passengers replaced nine others who canceled their departure.

Nelson Wayang replaced Yohanis Kiabra, Yana Uropka replaced Yunus Setamanggi, Yance Wapdanon replaced Ardono Hikmad, Kayus Kipka replaced Yundriadi, Terianus Salawala replaced Susilo, Eli Uropmabin replaced Piter, Timius Dupui replaced Surya, Obhet Turukna replaced Marusaha Sitorus and Jhon Gasperz replaced Petrus Tekege.
“I was surprised when I knew there were passengers who were not listed in the flight manifest. I ordered to carry out check on flight passengers. It used to do  to the entire airports to do screening on flight passengers. Some airports used to do it at prior time,” the Indonesian Minister of Transportation Ignasius Jonan told reporters on Tuesday (18/8/2015) at Sentani.

He further continued the Trigana Operation Airport said it might be a brokering practice. ‘Trigana must settle this problem, because no ticket sales in the airport. I asked Trigana to improve their internal management to avoid this practice,” he said.
    
The ministry office also will do investigation over Trigana, both on the plane and examination on the process of sales business. Related to sanction, the minister said the ministry office would also give sanction if fraud on manifest were founded. “There would be a lot of sanctions, such as the ministry will refuse their proposal for new route until they solve this problem,” said the minister said.
    
About the fact that many flight companies used to ignore the data from BMKG (Meteorology Office), he said, “We will also check the flight schedule either pioneer flight and so on. Usually it considered nothing happened but we must check it (Trigana). If they are founded ignoring the regulation, we will give sanction. All should be disciplined. For flight operation, safety is the first, all should obey the rule,” he said. (Roy Ratumakin/rom)
