Mohammad Nuh, the Indonesia Minister of Education and Culture

Jayapura, 15/7 (Jubi) – Since both local and central government have strong commitment to promote and educate the children of the nation, therefore in the future the quality of education at any regions of Indonesia would be equal, Mohammad Nuh, the Minister of Education and Culture said.

“The a nation’s quality is determined by the quality of human resources and Human Development Index, which contains three components including the education, health, and per capita income. Thus, in the future the quality of education would be equal at any regions,” said the minister during the launching of the implementation of educational curriculum 2013 at Papua Governor Office in Jayapura on Tuesday (15/7).

The Minister further said the education has the double effect; if someone was well educated, he would have good health and good earning. So, the governor’s policy to allocate 30% of Otsus fund for education is just right.
“Education is always associated with two points. The first is how children can receive education and access the level of education. Secondly is the quality of education. Both aspects are equally important, and should be run simultaneously. Therefore when the curriculum 2013 is ready to apply, teachers should be continue to be prepared,” he said.

In addition, the curriculum 2013 is aimed to develop the Indonesian youngsters to have three competencies that are knowledge, skill and attitude.  On this occasion, the Minister Mohammad Nuh also gave his appreciation to the Governor Lukas Enembe who considered have the strong commitment to promote education in Papua.
“As the Governor, I also have commitment to promote education in Papua to be equal with other regions in this country. Therefore, I appreciated his commitment in promoting education in Papua,” he said. (Jubi/Alex/rom)
