It is the third time the land owner blocked Merauke regent’s office (Jubi)

Merauke , 14/3 ( Jubi ) – The holder of customary land tenure, Kris Pandie Mahuze with his family for the third time blocked Merauke regent’s office. They demanded the regent of Merauke, Romanus Mbaraka to pay the rest of the money that has been promised.

On Friday ( 4/3), the blockage action done by dozens of people caused the workers to stop their activities.

Mahuze confirmed that the land compensation has been settled Rp 100 million and urged the government to pay the rest, Rp 400 million.
” We have repeatedly requested, yet no good intentions from the government, ” he said .

” It is true, it’s been the third time we blocked the office. If the government had paid, this blockage would not be happened, ” he said .

He also demanded the workers to stop the office construction ” We won’t move away until the government hand over Rp 400 million for us, ” he stated .

Separately, division head of government of Merauke regional secretary, Albert Rapami said that the fund has been prepared and will pay based on the existing mechanism .
