The Coordinator of Border Market, Ahmed said the incident has sparked fears among traders. “I don’t know when the market will reopen because the border gate is once again closed. It depends on the traders,” he said on Thursday (17/4).

Earlier, the Papua Police Chief Inspector General Tito Karnavian said the police cleared the border area before the shooting incident on 9 April. The police have been informed about a person who was suspected to be a member of the armed group led by Matias Wenda.
