Hundreds of peoples who rejected the Inauguration of 187 echelon II , III and IV of Puncak regency (Jubi)
Jayapura , 28/3 ( Jubi ) – Inauguration of 187 echelon II , III and IV of Puncak regency which will take place at Sahid hotel in Entrop, Jayapura, Papua got rejected by hundreds of people.
Hundreds of mass consisting of community, students and civil servants from Puncak rallied by showing some pamphlets written “ The inauguration must be in Ilaga “. The rally began at 9.00 am at at the hotel parking area ” We reject all regency activities in Jayapura because the capital of Puncak regency is in Ilaga and not in Jayapura “.
One of the student in his oration said that they refused the inauguration held in Jayapura.
” Such activities should be carried out in Puncak. In fact, the local government tends to run their activities in Jayapura,Timika and Nabire instead of in their own city,” he said.
He also demanded to immediately cancel all activities that will be held in Jayapura. ” If you insist to do that, there will be jealousy of others, ” he said .
Neles Wanimbo, civil servant representative said that he and his colleagues came to the hotel to find out what considerations taken by Puncak regent to inaugurate the officials in Jayapura .
” We think the regent must utilize the facility in Ilaga. We strongly disagree this inauguration, “Wanimbo added.
Meanwhile, Puncak regent William Wandik promised, the next important activities would be carried out in Puncak.
” I promise this is our last activity here. I’m not on vacation, I want to develop the region. If these officials are inaugurated,the second and third inauguration would definitely be held in Puncak ,” he confirmed on Friday ( 28/3). ( Jubi / Indrayadi TH/ Tina)
