The Democrat Party politician said she agreed that she had seen few tourism development programs after several working visits to Papua.
“The department should have drawn up programs to promote tourism in Papua, and then consult the governor before submitting them to the Papua Legislative Council,” he said.

He added in addition to the nature, several historical sites such as the place where first President Soekarno was sent to exile in Bovendigoel regency needed to be developed and promoted.

A member of the Papuan Legislative Council overseeing economics and tourism, Yulius Rumbairussi, said transport infrastructure needed to be built to open access to isolated areas.
“Transportation is an obstacle. In fact, tourism in Papua has not been planned well,” said Rumbairussi at that time. (Jubi/Arjuna/ Tina)
