Jayapura , 26/5 ( Jubi ) – There were many reported violations during the legislative elections , but these are not accompanied by the participation or support from the public, said a Jayapura Election Supervisory Committee member.
“There was no silence, in fact there were so many violations, but their reporting was not supported by community participation. Thus, we are having trouble finding witnesses or valid evidence,” Nurhaija said at his office on Monday afternoon ( 26/5).
Witnesses’ mobile phones were often inactive when contacted to verify alleged violations, he said.
Regarding election-related lawsuits by the Jayapura candidates or political parties to the Constitutional Court ( MK ), Nurhaija confirmed that Supervisory Committee has not received a single call from MK . (Jubi/Sunding/Tina)
