Jayapura, 21/3 (Jubi) – West Papua National Committee (KNPB) calls all the people of West Papua from Sorong to Samarai to boycott the legislative and presidential elections.
Spokesman of the National Committee of West Papua, Bazoka Logo stated that this election is a way to hypnotize people of West Papua.
” For more than fifty years, these elections have tranquilizing the people of West Papua. However, this kind of system and effort never stop us, the people of West Papua to fight our self-determination, ” Logo told reporters in Expo Waena on Friday afternoon (21/3).
Logo said, the objectives of Indonesia democratic system in Papua are clearly to establish the agents of colonialism, to strengthen the system of colonialism and to form the hegemony of neocolonialism in Indonesia. In addition, the system has successfully created colonial and discriminating forms within the people of Papua, as a result they are scattered and not united.
“Therefore, KNPB calls all the people of West Papua to boycott the 2014 legislative and presidential elections since the political status of West Papua has not been resolved,” he said.
Chairman of the West Papua National Parliament, Buchtar Tabuni also urges all the people of West Papua to not participate as well. (Jubi / Arnold Belau/Tina)
