Jayapura, Jubi – Provincial health programs such as Papua Health Card (KPS) will overlap with the new program introduced  by new President Joko Widodo, the Indonesian Health Card (KIS).

“KPS and BPJS will likely overlap with KIS. I’ve talked with the head of the health department about this matter. KIS may be adjusted,” Papua Govenor Lukas Enembe said on Sunday (2/11).

He said the KPS and BPJS were set up by laws. He does not know whether Jokowi’s program  would be adjusted to the existing programs.
“We’ll just follow the program of the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Puan Maharani. We will see later its implementation in the field,” he said.

He then suggested if the central government wants to apply KIS and Kartu Indonesia Pintar ( Indonesia Smart Card), then the entire population of Indonesia should have both cards.
“When it is implemented, it will mean the entire population of Indonesia must have a smart card and a health card, not just half of them. Let the entire Indonesian population could feel the impact,” said Enembe.

Earlier, as many as 200. 525 KPS has been distributed by the Acceleration of Development agency for health (UP2KP) to some private hospitals in the city of Jayapura, and thousands more in some regencies such as Merauke, Biak, Timika , Yapen and Jayapura.
