Serui, 4/4 (Jubi) – Journalists were prohibited to cover a case of violence which involved a judge and a prosecutor.
A judge who is known as the Head of Serui District Court was allegedly abusing a prosecutor who is a civil servant in the State Attorney Office of Serui.
Police Chief of Yapen Islands Regency the Adjunct Commissioner Senior Gator Suprasetya confirmed the incident was occurred on 1 April. A prosecutor with initial MM reported the act of abuse committed by the Head of Serui District Court.
“We will send a summon and examine the witnesses. Because according to the victim, he persecuted in the Serui District Court. We will conduct a further investigation,” the Chief who accompanied by the Head Devision of Crime Investigation Dody Tri Hendo S told to reporters on Friday (4/4).
About the mission agenda of Judicial Commission to conduct investigations to this case, he said the police would continue the case to the legal process since it reported as a crime. However, we will let the Judicial Commission to conduct their internal investigation in the attorney office and the court.
Meanwhile, two commissioners of Judicial Commission who have arrived in Serui since 2 April to conduct investigations on the case of abuse refused to give information to reporters. The State Attorney Office of Serui also refused to comment. Even some prosecutors were obstructing reporters to meet with the commissioner of Judicial Commission either at their hotel or the airport.
“Reporters, please do not expose the case because it’s still under the investigation. We actually won’t it to be covered by reporters, because it would be blew up,” a prosecutor said to reporters.
Another prosecutor prohibited reporters to take pictures of two commissioners when departing from Serui to Biak yesterday morning.
“Please told to those two journalists for not taking pictures of two commissioners,” said the reporter of RRI Serui, Achi Runtuboy quoted a prosecutor. (Jubi/Wily/rom)
