Protesters demanded the Papua Election Commission ( KPU Papua) restore Jikwa’s votes which they said were stolen during the provincial plenary vote count.
“In Lanny Jaya, people have given their votes for Letinus Jikwa but sadly these were robbed. This action violates the political rights of people,” said a protester, Yan Matuan in his speech

According to him, Letinus Jikwa has stood for the people in Lanny Jaya, so they gave their votes to him.
” However, the votes were stolen and we demanded his votes to return.

Jikwa said that he felt aggrieved to know that his votes were stolen brazenly.
“The votes were lost during  the plenary in the provincial level. This action of an irresponsible individual cooperating with the Papua Commission and the Lanny Jaya Commission. My votes were initially 41,000 and then over 32,000  but when it was announced on April 6 at the provincial  plenary there remained only two votes, ” Jikwa said.
