A campaign for Election in Jayapura (Jubi)

Jayapura , 27/3 ( Jubi ) – Some residents of Jayapura said they did not care about the upcoming legislative and presidential elections.

Alfred Deremai, a resident in Padang Bulan,  said campaigning has been used by political elites to flaunt their wealth.
” I do not want to bother myself with such campaigning. It has been held many times but still the people do not see any changes and improvements,” Deremai told tabloidjubi.com on Thursday ( 27/3 )
Their promises are nothing but an attempt to win public support, he said.

“That’s nonsense, later when they get elected, they will only serve their own interests. They won’t go down and see the condition of society or listen to people’s aspirations,” he added.
His sentiment was echoed by Madgalena Kogoya, who sells vegetables and other produce at Youtefa market, Jayapura. She said that she is also pessimistic about the current legislative candidates.

“They go to great lengths  to attract support and then forget about us,” Magdalena complained.
The candidates should prove that they are qualified and credible.
” Where have they been?  What have they done? They suddenly show up and seek for our support. I am not really interested. Stop using us for your benefits and interests only, ” she said. ( Jubi / Arjuna/ Tina )
