Jayapura, Jubi – Jayapura Mayor Benhur Tommy Mano urged regional government agencies (SKPD) to support residents whose houses were destroyed in a recent fire at Kloofkamp – Gurabesi, Jayapura Utara Sub-district.
He asked the village and sub-district administrative bodies to provide data on the victims and report it to related agencies for initial action. In particular, he urged the Department of Social Affairs, the Department of Health and the Regional Disaster Relief Body to prepare temporary shelters, foodstuffs, and medical care.
“I asked the Department of Education to look after the victims who may have lost things such as school certificates, school report cards and also provide school stationery and uniforms,” he said.
The Head of Social Department of Jayapura Municipality, Irwandi said his department would provide the shelters and food logistics for residents until the next two weeks. (Sindung Sukoco/rom)
