A coordination meeting of emergency respon in after floods and landslide in Jayapura City (Jubi)

Jayapura, 2/3 ( Jubi ) – The Jayapura city government formally ended the emergency response status imposed following floods and landslides last month.

The team leader of Disaster Management and Emergency Response,  who is also secretary of the Jayapura municipality, RD Siahaya, said the city has gradually recovered .
“We have tried our best to help the victims of the natural disaster. if there are still needs, you may contact the Papua Management Disaster Board (BPBD) or the Social Welfare Department ( Dinsos) , ” he said after a disaster response evaluation meeting at Imbi Park in City of Jayapura on Saturday (1/3 ) .

Although the status of disaster response has ended, the deputy chief of the Jayapura police, Commissioner Kiki Kurnia reminded that there are still problems.
“The police have not finished working because there is still a missing victim. I hope the search will continue,” Kiki said

The head of the Jayapura Health department , Dolarina de Breving, said that although the coordination post has been closed, “we still continue to work. ”
“There are many carcasses left. We are worried diseases will break out, so we continue do fumigation,” he said. (Jubi / Sindung/ Tina)
