I Gusti Putu Danny NK, has reportedly died in a crossfire between the Indonesian Military (TNI) and the West Papua National Liberation Army (TPNPB) in Dambet Village, Beoga District, Puncak Regency on Sunday, April 25, 2021.

“The body will be evacuated to Timika on Monday morning and flown to Jakarta in the afternoon to be buried in the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery,” Triyono said.
According to Triyono, Danny went to Dambet Village with seven military personnel by motorcycles to investigate the reported arson in the village and gave support to the villagers. The Papua Provincial Government expresses condolences for the intelligence chief’s death. “Our deepest condolences to the entire family. Tomorrow I will go to Timika to send off the body,” Papua Regional Secretary Dance Yulian Flassy told Jubi on Sunday.
Flassy also appealed to the Papua citizen to remain calm and not getting provoked by the recent event. “The state has taken care of the late general’s body,” he said.
Brig. Gen. Danny was an alumnus of the Military Academy in 1993. He served as the chief of the Papua BIN since June 2020, replacing Maj. Gen. Abdul Haris Napoleon. (*)
