Jayapura, 28/3 (Jubi) – The Immigration Jayapura Office arrested an Afghan Ahmad Fahim Nazari and three Bangladeshis who respectively are Saiful Islam Tanu, Mohammad Shahidul and Mamood at the Jaguar Hotel in Sentani of Jayapura Regency.

They were arrived from Jakarta to the Sentani airport on 13 March and stayed at the Jaguar Hotel before caught by the Immigration Office upon the information of hotel’s employee.

Head of Immigration Jayapura Office, Gardu Ditiro D. Tampubolon told to reporters on Friday (28/3) that the four foreigners were intended crossing to the border of Papua New Guinea towards Australia. They started a journey from Malaysia to Medan (a city located in Sumatera Island Indonesia) using boat. They came to Papua after get some information from irresponsible person.

He further said there were estimated 70 foreign citizens who are planning use the line of Papua’s pathway to Australia. “We are currently setting up a network to learn and anticipate their arrival,” Tampubolon said.
“It seems like there is someone who set it up, but we could not identified yet who was behind them,” he said.  While the Section Head of the Immigration Control and Enforcement, Sem Henock was not able to contacted for further comments. (Jubi/Indrayadi TH/rom)
