Sentani, 21/6 (Jubi) – The Governor of West Papua, Bram Oktovianus Ataruri, said that Indonesia would remain intact if its president comes from military background.

“Let’s vote a soldier to be a President, because the army put the body for this country. Look Habibie who is  a civilian. When he was president, East Timor separated. When Gus Dur was president, Papua almost separated. Do not let Jokowi be a president, ” he said.

He stands for Prabowo not because both of them are generals, but as a  best friend.
“Prabowo was in the same class with me. We both graduated from America,” said Ataruri, who is also Gerindra chairman of West Papua Province.

Prabowo loves Papuans and Papua will be more advanced if Prabowo becomes president, he said.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the Volunteer Team for Jokowi (Bara JP), Yakoba Lokbere / Wetipo called Ataruri’s statement excessive and unreasonable.

When visiting Papua on the first day of presidential campaign, Jokowi already explained the reason for choosing Papua. “Indonesia’s sun rises from the east and does not rise from the west. That’s why I chose Papua for my first campaign,” Yakoba echoed Jokowi’s statement on Saturday (21/6).

His first campaign in Papua is a form of his serious attention, Yakoba said.
“Jokowi said Papua is comfortable, cool, cool, cool, and there is no problem. Just a matter of communication, ” Yakoba said, casually. (Jubi / Albert/ Tina)
