Opening ceremony of Sentani Lake Festival, 2013 (Jubi)
Jayapura, 18/6 (Jubi) – The procession of head payments will be exhibited at the Sentani Lake Festival.
Deputy chairman of the festival committee, Hanna Hikoyabi, said the procession will be performed on the second day. There will be a procession of payment of Asei Ondoafi head, Sefnat Ohee who died some time ago.
“The procession will be carried out at the festival. The delegates will be paraded through Sentani lake. So there will be a procession from the east to the lake location,” she said on Wednesday (18/6).
Even though this event is part of a national event yet there has been no financial support from the central government and provincial Papua, according to her.
“Funds are used from the 2014 Jayapura regency budget of Rp. 2.7 billion. We are hoping to receive support from them since it is still part of the Sail Raja Ampat,” she said.
“We hope the Sentani Lake Festival would be useful and provide a positive impact for society despite the limited funds available,” she added.
Jayapura regent, Mathius Awoitauw said he was really optimistic that this festival will still be festive. “We remain committed to the success of this event.” (Jubi / Arjuna/ Tina)
